In My Head I'm Thin
In My Head I'm Thin is one of the funniest and most up lifting shows I've ever seen. After I saw it the first time, I convinced our local girl scout leader to take her whole troop as a way to help "immunize" them against future eating disorders. It was a huge hit with all of them -- and their mothers! This play should be required viewing for everyone in this country. Author, Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom, Bantam (Revised 1998) In My Head I'm Thin has the qualities of all good theater: it entertains, resonates with our own experiences and provides fresh insights and catharsis.... Hilarious! Pound for pound, In My Head I'm Thin is a winner. It demonstrates how versatile and talented both of these artists are. Carlisle's paintings, his acting and his guitar-playing all work beautifully.... Poulin's energy and intuition as an actress and writer are undeniable. Only a performer like Susan Poulin could dispense facts as eye-opening as these in a performance that sends its audience home aching from laughter and hopeful, too.... She strikes chords of plain good sense through the vehicle of tight, punchy writing and an unfailing knack for comic performance at its best. Watch an audience eat it up! Site design by metaglyph
