Two new projects, two new venues!
I’m really looking forward to performing in 2026, and have some fun things lined up.
I’m kicking off the year with a new project called Love Lessons at The Footlights Theatre in Falmouth, ME, February 14 & 15 at 2:00. That’s right, Valentine’s Day, which happens to be Gordon and my anniversary, and the day after. What better way to celebrate than by sharing my favorite Ida stories about love, romance and the little things about your mate that irritate you, but you’d probably miss if they weren’t there? It’s been fun putting it together, and I’m including some stories I haven’t told in a long time. Laughter is the best love language! I hope you can join us for this special Valentine’s Day event.
I haven’t performed in the Portsmouth area since before the Covid Pandemic, and I’ve longed to do so. I’m pleased to announce I’ll be returning with two different shows in two different locations.
Join me for my staged reading of Once We Were Four, at New Hampshire Theatre Project on March 28 at 4:00. This is the Portsmouth theater formerly known as WEST, where I’ve performed many times in the past. It’s an intimate space, about 50 to 60 seats, and perfect for this celebration of life, loss and the healing power of love. Reserve early.

I’m also thrilled to be bringing my brand new Ida show, Down to the A&P, to the Dance Hall in Kittery on April 26 at 2:00. This venue, as you may know, is a converted grange hall, so Ida will fit right in. I’ve always pictured Ida at The Dance Hall, and I’m happy to say it’s finally happening! Join Ida as she looks back at her fifty years as a cashier down to the A&P.
Both these shows feel like a homecoming for me. I’ll be working with these organizations for the first time, and I’d like to continue to do so. In fact, I’d love to have a home base in the Seacoast area. I’ve missed it! So, I’m asking for your help. Please come if you can, and spread the word. The more people who attend, the better my chances of securing a return engagement. Thanks so much!
My second new project is a community version of the PowerPlay show, The Half Written Play, which we did with students at UNH in the fall. The event combines applied theater and design thinking to help people from different walks of life have conversations about climate change. We’ll be doing several shows in a variety of venues throughout the seacoast in late May. I’ll keep you posted as things develop.
I’m really looking forward to all of these shows and more. I hope to see you in the audience!
Cheers,
Susan
